Cold Air brushed Vincent Deathlorn's cheek as she stared out into the vast nothingness of the Border. Nomans land She thought as she stepped on the gravel-like dirt beneath her feeling the hard rocks and the cold ground. Everthing seemed lifeless here. Vergil gave a small murmur as Vincent looked over to her crow, then at Dante, circling in the sky. "Keep watch Dante, in case someone comes. Someone I would rather not meet." Dante gave a loud trill as he continued to move through the sky, spreading his wings to glide.
It's been too long to not meet a Nothing..My first was the moment I stepped onto the Border. Vincent thought as she looked at her gloves, still stained with dark liquid. It seems like I'm coming closer to my goal..the big one must be near..somewhere... She came to as Vergil pecked her cheek. "What's wrong?"

September's wings beat softly as she rode the air currents of the starry sky, occaisionally just gliding smoothly. She was actually flying directly over the border or maybe not directly as she was extremely careful not to cross the invisible wall of the border. No, she flew on her side, the side she constantly protected. That was what she was doing out there now, trying to protect her charges by surveying the border, the border between peaceful dreams and hellish nightmares.
Suddenly, Ariella spotted something down near the border. She was much too high to be able to tell waht it was, so she bent one of her wings slightly, sending her into an instant corkscrew spiral. She headed straight for the being, loosening her sword as she flew down.

"Dante?" Vincent looked up slowly and widened her eyes in an instant. Something was flying down towards her. Fast. Sliding backwards, She unsheathed Mercy as Vergil flew airborne piercing the sky towards the flying figure. "Dont go Vergil! You too Dante!" The two crows stopped as they flew back behind Vincent, holding her sword.
Wind blew around her as she activated her black wings, and kicked the ground heading towards the figure. A Nothing? She looked at the distant person as they neared and pretty soon saw the bodyline of a woman with white wings. Vincent stopped as she stayed midair calling out to the other figure. "I state myself! Vincent Deathlorn, Sandman. State your name!"

September had seen the being launch into the air, spreading great black wings. She straightened her own wings to stop corkscrewing down to the ground. She watched the being for a moment only to see it pause only a short distance away. She smiled softly when she heard the being state herself. So she was a friend and not a foe? She put her sword back into its sheath. There would be no fighting now. She was sure of it. "I am September, Leader of the Sandmen!" She called out clearly, so the being could hear her.

Vincent sheathed her sword instantly when she heard the name. "Lady September! ...forgive me for my rudeness." She flew near her, Dante and Vergil closely circling behind her. "I would have never unsheathed my sword had I known it was you." She smiled embarrasingly as she lowered her head slightly in apology. Dante flapped his wings hysterically as Vergil lowered his head as well.

September gave Vincent a small smile. "You should never apologize for drawing your weapon, especially not so near the border. You should also not be so hasty to put it away. Some of our foes have the ability to appear as another. This isn't the case this time though and to prove it...I give you light." She suddenly glowed with pure white light. She dimmed it down a moment later still smiling. "So how goes your patrol? Find anything interesting?"

"Nothing has happened..A few attacks, just about it." Vincent replied looking at her stained clothes. She smiled calmly as she bowed again. "I'm sure that there will be not that many attacks here, but I'm not sure so it would be best if you left this place immediately Lady September."

September raised an eyebrow when she was told to leave. Why should she leave? She was supposed to fight not sit up in the tower like some protected thing. "I am the Leader of the Sandmen, Vincent. Where am I supposed to be if not here?" She spread her wings wide in a manner that would scare most of the lesser beings. She wasn't trying to scare Vincent just show her how formiddable an opponet she was. She folded her wings back after a momemnt.

Vincent watched her as she raised her wings apparently trying to scare Vincent, or intimidate her. "With all due respect Lady September, it's because you are the leader of the Sandmen, if we lose you we have absolutely nothing left. I was just worried for your safety." She watched her quietly. Vincent didnt want to lose anyone special. Ever again.

September raised her eyebrow slightly at Vincent's words. "I'm not pecial, Vincent," she said softly. "I can be easily replaced by another Sandman.I'm sure you realize that." She gave the being a small smile. "I appreciate that you want to protect me and keep me safe, but I took the position for a reason, and that reason is not to just sit safely in the tower while you risk your life. That's just not me."

Vincent nodded quietly. She knew that September was right, and it would be far beyond normal for the angel's pride and attitude to keep herself within Sandmen borders in safetly. However,
"True, there may be countless Sandmen leaders, but please keep in mind. I'm sure everyone else will agree with me " Vincent gave a small smile. "There is only one September."
