She sat on a rocky cliff, high above the rest of the lands, both the dream land, and the land of nightmares, kneeling on the cold, hard ground. Her hair was let loose today, and fell down below her shoulder in soft waves. An icy wind breezed past, causing the being to shiver lightly; she hadn't brought a coat today, and was still just wearing her rather small tank-top, and black pants. She also didn't wear any more extensive footwear, just her sandals, although she was wearing long gloves on both her hands.
On the ground far below she could see the beings on both sides of the border continue on with their daily, or nightly, lives, all of them so small they could barely be seen, even with her much higher than average eyesight. Turning back from the view, she looked on the ground in front of her, the reason she was here. Laying broken on the rock was a rather large bird, it's wings moving feebly as they dripped with it's own blood. There was a nasty claw mark across it's stomach, bleeding profusely. She had not been the one that had injured it so. It had looked almost like a large cat of some sort had done it, but it had ran off when she had neared.
Removing the glove from her right hand and taking out a small dagger, she held the blade over the bird's body and pushed it deep into it's flesh, watching as the animal shuddered and died. She reveled in the feel on the warm blood running onto her skin, bringing her hand to her mouth and licking the substance off. She could immediately feel strength grow in herself, but she would only drink the blood. She never actually ate an animal, regardless of how weak she was. But she had to eat though, and so regardless of what side she was on, this was what she needed to sustain herself.

Glandforth looked at the cliff in amazement. He decided that it would be good exercise for himself, seeing as how he had not trained recently, as his real life counterpart, Ace, had been enjoying life all too much. He turned his attention back to the cliff. Walking forward, he looked for spot to start his scaling of the rock. He wondered what the view was from the top, as he found his first opening in the rock, just big enough for his one of his feet. As he placed his foot in, he tried to push himself up, but saw that his steel clad armor would just bruise, and ultimately, slow him down. Taking off his armor, starting with his breastplate, moving down to his boots, he looked around for a spot to them, away from wandering eyes. He found one, a very small cave big enough for a medium sized dog. It was well out of the way, and securely hidden behind the fairly large rocks that possibly could have fell from atop the cliff. He decided to put his armor there. Just his armor, not his sword, he always kept his sword. Higher and higher, he climbed, until he was near the top. Looking down, for one last view, just before he began his final leg of the journey, he noticed that it had became fairly crowded, and with a closer look, saw that no one had saw his armor, nor discovered him ascending atop the cliff. His arms had gone somewhat numb, his legs fairly fine as he was used to this type of training. The most training he had ever done with his arms had been 6 hours back to back of sword training, but that had been a while before. Thinking back to the cliff, and his climbing, he decided not to let his mind wander, as it could prove deadly. He was so close to the top, he felt a icy wind penetrate his body, making him shiver, as he was half naked. He pushed on though, through much determination, he reached the top. Hoisting himself up, he noticed a woman, possibly around his age, was at the top of cliff as well. He decided not to make his presence known, as he did not know what side this woman was on. She was bended over something, her fingers to her mouth. Upon closer examination, he saw that it was a large bird, large enough for his standards, and a dagger had been driven through it’s breast. How can anyone be so heartless?. Immediately reaching for the hilt of his sword, almost subconsciously, he prepared himself, if she did think she could take him on, and exclaimed, “Who are you, foul creature?” ( i hope thats good

Naomi could hear the sound of his fingers on the rocks as he climbed up the cliff, the sound of small pebbles wiggling free of the boulders and bouncing against the rocks as they fell, but she didn't look up, not when he reached the top, nor when he spoke to her. She finished licking her fingers clean and stood up, finally turning to the new creature. Her eyes narrowed at what he had said, but she didn't speak for a moment. Another wind blew up around them and her hair was sent flying around her shoulders as her hands reached for her swords. She didn't have to waste time wondering if he was an enemy or not, because she wasn't on any particular side. That made things almost too easy. He didn't even have any armour.
"I am Naomi Takayashi, and you would do well to cease talking in such a tone to me.'
take her hands from her swords, but didn't take the swords from their sheaths. Not yet. It was never wise to make the first move.

“Naomi Takayashi, eh? I’m honored to make your acquaintance.” He said, partly bowing. Looking down, he noticed he was fairly cold, as he was without armor. “As you can see, I currently don’t have my armor equipped, but you still don’t want to mess with me, girl.” He was a rather cocky fellow, he didn’t mind though. Confidence was one way to help his chances of winning a fight. But that wasn’t important to him now. What was however, was the fact that this girl was practically drinking the blood of a girl, and that freaked Glandforth to the maximum. Part of him wanted to throw up, the other, wanted to drive the same dagger that was in the bird, right through her throat. He decided to let her take the first move, seeing as it would put him in the advantage, for once, if she made a careless mistake.

Honoured to meet her acquaintance? Yeah right. He'd probably be more honoured to run her through with her own dagger. She pulled on the glove she had taken off earlier, flexing her fingers before replying to his 'honoured to meet you' comment.
"Sure, because I totally believe that."
Sarcasm dripped from every syllable. She took out her twin blades and held them lightly. She didn't like this guy already, and she didn't even know his name. Oh well. She guessed she wouldn't know. Dead men don't talk, now do they. As he spoke about not having armour, and how she didn't want to mess with him, she rolled her eyes. She was good at messing with people. It made life so much more... fun.
"What's a girl like me to do against someone like you?"
She spoke in her best 'innocent' voice, and about .03 of a second later, she was standing behind him with a sword to his throat.
"Oh right, I forgot. I can kill you."

Glandforth noticed as she slipped on her glove that she was onto something. She then spoke, but with sarcasm. He hated sarcasm during a battle. Sure it was fun when you were the one doing it, but when enemy did it, it ticks you off, doesn’t it? He noticed as she disappeared, or so she hoped, but he saw her every movement of hers. In slow motion. He decided not to move as he appeared behind his back, even though he could have. “Of, right, I forgot. I can kill you.” She said, confidently, or so it seemed.
Glandforth merely smirked, “You know something, that was pretty slow.” And about in half of the time that it took her to get behind him, he got behind her. “You forget something. I’m practically faster than light.” He had drawn his sword as he was “disappeared”, and held up to her throat. “Don’t push yourself, sweetheart.”

Hearing his words, rather than being worried, as anyone in her situation would have the full right and reason to, she smirked instead. Never make the first move, was her motto, and any smart fighters words to live by. Unless you were testing them. He failed.
"Actually, that was pretty slow."
She smirked once more and kicked his sword from her neck, jumping out of his range in about the same amount of the time it had taken him to jump behind him to begin with. Yes, she had been testing him. And now that she knew how fast he was... it made things a lot easier. But first things first, she was still weak.
Walking casually towards the dead bird, swinging her swords in circles by her sides, she removed the glove once more (nothing is worse than the taste of leather in blood) and knelt down beside the dead animal. Dipping her fingers in the warm red substance, she brought her hand back and offered it out to the other being.
"Care for some? It's a delicacy in some countries you know."
She then smirked and licked the blood from her fingers slowly, watching him carefully for his reaction. It seemed that regardless of what side someone was on, if they ate other creatures they were 'dirty' or 'foul'. It really pissed her off, because what about steak? Or bacon? Those were animals too, and people ate them. The only different was that she didn't eat the animal, she ate the blood. It wasn't her fault that was what she needed to eat for survival, and yet people accused her. They accused her of being a terrible being for drinking the blood of others.
But they didn't know. No, they didn't know anything. They didn't know she only killed the animals if they were mortally wounded, and if there was nothing that could be done. They didn't know she lived like a scavenger, trying to find animals that had already died, died of natural causes, and that she always left behind the rest, for the other animals to eat and get strong. To live. They thought she was a monster, deserving to be destroyed for her 'sins'. Deserving of nothing less than to die, to die for the lives she had taken, for the lives she was going to continue to take. No, she thought sadly to herself. They don't know anything.

Glanforth chuckled as she kicked his sword into the air, as she hopped away from him. He hadn’t been holding very tightly, quite loosely to tell you the truth, and let it go into the air. As it came down, he grabbed the hilt, swung it around, and imbedded it into the ground. He leaned against it, “You’re quite fast. So tell me, what side are you on?” He said, rubbing his chin. He was quite interested in Naomi, seeing as she was almost, just almost, as fast as him.
As she walked back over to the bird, she removed her glove. Glandforth knew how it felt eating with gloves, but in this case it was different. She wasn’t eating the bird, but rather, drinking its blood. It send a shudder through his spine, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to survive. He knew if he had to kill prey to eat to survive, he would have. But thankfully, he was a vegetarian, well for now. He ate meat only rarely, only when he was very hungry and had no other choice.
She offered him some, but he simply raised his hand as to tell her no. “I think I’ll pass. You go on ahead.” He knew what she was doing wasn’t exactly wrong, as many people ate meat, or rather, drank blood. She wasn’t the only one. The thing that bothered him was the crime. The crime of killing that bird, but maybe it had already been wounded and she had done it a favor and saved it from long hours of misery.

What side was she on? Hmm, good question. That was as of yet undecided. And she liked it that way. She could move freely about the two lands without being attacked, and it just made for some better exploring, with more places to wander around. Besides, she was making strong allies on both sides. That could come to her advantage sometime.
"My loyalty is as of yet, undecided."
She could feel strength coming back to her as she finished licking the blood from her hand, and she stood back up, pulling her glove back on as she turned to face him. She took it that since he had yet to actually try to kill her, she didn't have much to worry about with him, as long as she didn't provoke him.
For some reason that reminded her of something in the real world, this one time when there had been a wasp nest outside the orphanage, and all the kids were terrified of it. Then one of the older girls had come out and told them all that they wouldn't hurt them unless they tried to hurt the wasps first, and then she carefully moved the nest somewhere else.
Naomi blinked a few times, coming back from her thoughts. Or, rather, as she came back from the thoughts of her human counterpart. It seemed lately she had gone into those musing more and more often. Abby must have a lot on her mind.
