Evan stepped foot out onto the soft turf of the park. He had his notebook and pen in hand and was here to do some writing. He hadn't really gotten the chance lately to write, but today was different. The weather was getting colder, so he was wearing his favorite jacket and jeans. He hood was pulled up over his head to block most of the wind.
He walked over to a bench and sat down, surveying the people around him. He always liked looking at the public to get ideas for his characters. He saw a girl not too far away that looked like she would make a good one. She had this air about her that just made her seem like a good candidate for his books. He immediately began to jot down her features and what he thought she might be like.

Evan was almost finished with his notes on the girl. He had a feeling that this story he was about to write was going to be his best yet. While he was writing though, he felt the wind suddenly stopped blowing on his back, then the next thing he knew, darkness enveloped his eyes as someone put their hands over him. "I dunno. This is a tough one. I don't think I recognize that voice." He said smiling. Of course he knew her though, he just loved a good joke every now and again.
"Aww, I'm just kidding. It's my Deli." he said using his nickname for her. He hadn't seen her in a few days, but that was mainly his fault. He had graduated school and was spending most of his time writing his books and articles and rarely had time for anyone anymore. He felt bad, so he was going to make it up to her sometime soon and take more time to spend with her. It was only fair.

When he looked at her, he was taken aback. He had forgotten how beautiful she was and it had only been a few days. How could he have been so stupid to forget what she looked like. He was spending too much time imagining his book characters and not enough time with his best friend. It was true that she had school and he had work, but perhaps he could meet somewhere in the middle. He would only work while she was at school, but any other time would be devoted to her.
He closed his notebook after finishing his last bit of notes and set it to the side. "You're not a child and you can still call me at any hours of the day. You're making me feel old. I'm only eighteen years old you know." he said laughing. He hated that most of his friends were still in school. Why didn't he deem it worthy to make friends with older people. He guessed they were just too stingy to him and the younger ones were the cool kids.
"Aww, but if I told you what I was up to then that would spoil the secret. You know I love a good secret. Messing with you is a favorite passtime of mine, and you know what they say, curiosity killed the cat." he said smiling. He could keep this up all day, but seeing that she was so anxious to know he decided to tell her, "Ok, fine. I've just been researching characters for my new book is all. Nothing special."
