Ariella was once again at Rown Park and sitting in a swing. It was late afternoon, and the shadows were long. She wasn't moody like she had been the last time she had been sitting in the swing. No, this time she was light anf airy as though she had no care in the world. She knew that part of this was due to her now being Ken's girlfriend. A small smile creased her lips at the mere thought of it. It was such a good feeling to know that she actually had someone now that she felt as though she might just float up in the air and just fly around like the birds. She knew this wouldn't happen. It was just how happy she felt about it all that made it seem like it would, but swinging was the next best thing.
Ariella closed her eyes while she started to pump her legs, her dark hair streaming out behind her. She didn't much care what the people passing her by thought. A seventeen-year-old swining like a child was sure to turn a few heads, but she really didn't care. They could call her immature, but that really wasn't true. She just loved swinging. It made her feel like she was flying, especially if she closed her eyes like she had done now. She smiled brightly to herself while she kept up the movements in her legs.

Ariella had her eyes closed, so she didn't see Laney walk up. She knew instantly who was talking though at just the few words. She opened her eyes and saw that Laney had sat in the swing next to her. "Wuz up?" She asked as a form of greeting, cracking a smile. She stopped pumping her legs so she would stop swinging so high and just sit next to her friend. She raised an eyebrow at her friends words. "Oh, you just think you know everything, don't you?" She glared at Laney for a moment before breaking into a smile again. "Okay, I'll tell you because you feel so uninformed." She stuck out her tongue. "I," she paused for dramatic effect, "have a boyfriend." A smile spreaad across her face almost involuntarily at these words. She just couldn't help it. It just made her so happy to think about.
