If You Fall, You Might Catch a Star...Anna sighed lightly as she entered the park. She plopped herself down on a bench and looked at the night sky. Despite the lights, millions of stars were visible. She picked out the constellation Orion and hugged her knees to her chest. Orion was the only constellation she knew and she always felt comforted when she saw it. She saw it a little different than people described it. Instead of seeing the body of a man with a bow, arrow, and no head, she saw a stick figure hunting. The headless part made the constellation creepy. She hummed the beginning of the song, "Bittersweet Symphony" to herself as she stared upward. It was a nearly clear night. Dark, thin, wispy clouds were the only things obscuring some stars. Anna pulled her dark jean-clad legs in a little more as a cool breeze played with her hair. Fall would be coming soon. She tugged down the sleeves of her jacket to hide faded scars. Anna didn't like to remember why she had those.

Sabrina was sitting under an Elm tree her dark blue eyes focused on the grass. She then looked up and the stars and closed her eyes she loved the quite of then night it soothed her. She put her dark blond hair behind her ear she was trying to find something to do since she really didn't know anyone here.
Sabrina then got up and was going to take a walk. She brushed off her navy blue skirt that went just above her knees and adjusted her jacket that she was wearing. Sabrina started on her walk through the park listing to the silence of the night.

Anna noticed someone else and tensed. She pulled her legs closer until they were totally pressed against her chest. She did /not/ do well with people. She watched as the girl walked through the park. After a moment she averted her gaze, going by the, 'if I can't see you, you can't see me' theory. She bit her lip and closed her eyes, as if this would help her blend in with her surroundings. Now you're being sill Anna, she thought.

She looked up at the girl then. Ugh. Socializing.... Anna smiled weakly and nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine," she muttered, moving away from her a little. She tried to make sure it wasn't noticable. Anna twisted her fingers around a little and bit her lip harder. She had to move her gaze away again.

Noticing the girl did not want to talk to her Sabrina stood up. "Okay, well maybe I will see you some other time." Sabrina said then continued on her walk. She looked up at the starry sky and wished she had a comfortable bed to sleep in.

She blushed, the color showing plainly on her pale face. She felt more than a little rude right now. "I'm sorry," she murmured, only glancing up at the girl once before looking back down at the bench. "Can't help it." Anna sighed and trace random designs on the wood.

Ace noticed two girls talking, sitting down on a bench. He had saw one of the girls get up and leave, as he walked forward. The other girl, the one still sitting down, now was doing something with her hand’s on the bench. As he neared her, he noticed she was probably about his, then again, practically everyone from here was, and he decided to speak. Pointing after the other girl that just got up and left, still noticeable in the distance, “Shouldn’t you be going as well? It’s getting kinda late.” He said, in his most polite voice.

She closed her eyes for a moment as she heard another voice. It was a male's this time. Great, someone else to talk to. She let out a silent, shuddering breath and looked up at him. "I probably should," Anna began. "But I want to stay here a little while longer. I like it here." Hey, she was getting better at this socializing thing. She smiled slightly at her minor accomplishment.

He noticed as he let out a hard breath, as if she didn’t want to talk to him. But it was getting late, and he would make sure she was at home before it got even later. He didn’t trust this town completely, and wasn’t going to trust this girl here, at this completely abandoned park all by herself, with god knows what, lurking around out there. He smiled back, and took a seat next to her. He made a mental note to himself to ask next time before he took a seat next to someone. “I do too. It’s a wonderful place to get your thoughts together.” He said.

She watched him, feeling only slightly more uncomfortable when he sat by her. She scooted over a bit to give him room and slowly let her legs fall into a normal position. Hugging your knees while talking to someone seemed kind of weird. Anna kept the hand that wasn't in his field of vision curled in a fist, her nails digging into the heel of her hand. She nodded. "Mmhm." Now her unease was beginning to get replaced with extreme shyness.

Ace noticed her move over slightly. Letting her legs go, they slid to the floor. She was unsure of whether to trust him, he noticed. “I’m Ace. Ace McCloud.” He said, sticking his hand out for a greeting. He was sure the best way for her to get more comfortable was to just be himself.

Anna hesitated before shaking his hand. She smiled a little more, feeling a little more relaxed. "I'm Anna Lefer," she answered quietly. The hand that was clenched into a fist relaxed a bit but she didn't totally unclench it yet. She ran a hand through her hair nervously. It was getting darker now so the moon and stars were the only lights in the sky.

He noticed her hesitation, and saw that his friendly approach hadn’t worked. But he was going to press on it. She studied her a bit closer, and was amazed to see that her hand was clenched into a fist. What was she planning to do? Sock him and take his wallet? Anyways, she was fairly smaller than him, and she couldn’t have done much. She finally shook his hand however, as Ace took his attention off her fist. “So how long have you been here?” He asked, looking up at the stars, making himself comfortable.

She quickly his her other hand when she noticed him looking at it. Anna bit the inside of her lips gently and looked down at her shoes. She shrugged. "Not long. A couple minutes. I was here for two hours before though. I had to go home for a while to reassure James," she said, her voice soft. It could just barely be heard. James didn't like her out for too long unless he knew where she was.
