Damien sighed and made his way into the park. Looking around, he noticed some of the children playing, completely oblivious to what was going on around them. Sighing, he sat beneath a tree, his notebook full of stories in his hands. Opening to a fresh page, he tried to think like Jag. What would he do now? What was something interesting that could happen? He got no responce.
Grunting in frustration, Damien looked away from the spiral, looking to find inspiration from something else.

Abby had decided to go for a nice, long walk through the park. One of the many downsides of not having an actual house with an actual room to yourself was that you never got any privacy, and even someone with the unreal patience that she had needed to get away from all of the small children and whatnot. Even the older kids were on her case today, asking her for help with anything and everything you could possibly think of. For god's sake, she was only fourteen years old, how many things did they think she could do at one time??
And so she had put on a pair of jeans, the nicest ones she owned which were a dark blue colour, with a small hole forming on the knee where she had hit it a few times, either from tripping over her own feet, or being pushed down by the stupid bullies at school. She had on a white t-shirt and a jacket, and brown running shoes. Unlike how she wore her hair most of the time, today she had curled it with someone's curler, and so it now lay in slight waves on her head. It actually looked pretty good, although it sort of felt strange to not have it held back by her usual bows.

Ace decided to take another walk through the park. It was after all, his favorite place now. Just after walking past the gate, he felt at home. So peaceful, brimming with joy, he was when he entered the park. Ace paused and took a deep breath, letting it all settle in. The weather was beautiful today. For the first time since coming here, the weather was to his liking. Just then, a leaf brushed against his cheek, and he instantly grabbed it, due to his reflexes. It was almost automatic now. It broke apart in his hand, as he held it out, and let it fall to the ground in pieces. He didn’t regret it though, the leaf’s time had passed and it was simply floating away.
He started to walk again, on the narrow footpath he had first seen not too long ago. There wasn’t that many people there, Ace wondered why. It was such a beautiful day, people should have been flooding into the park. Shrugging that off, he walked along. He noticed only two other people in the park, and they were a couple. Nodding his head as he walked by, he faintly smiled. It was nice seeing the couple at the park at this time. It almost made him yearn for something he had long lost. Just then, he passed by a girl sitting down on the bench, not looking much younger than himself. “Hey there,” He said, with his hands in his pockets.

A nice breeze blew by, rustling her jacket and blowing some hair in her face. She brushed it from her eyes and sat down on a bench beneath a tree. It was a really nice day today, not too hot and now yet cold enough to need a warm jacket, and the wind wasn't even very cold. The leaves rustled in the wind, whispering with each other in a language only the earth could understand.
It was already autumn, but barely any of the leaves on this tree had fallen yet, even though most of them were already beautiful, gold and yellow in colour. On of them broke from it's branch from the wind, floating down and landing lightly on her lap. She looked down at it and picked it up, dropping it on the ground in front of her. She was just so glad she wasn't stuck, cooped up inside like everyone else.
Suddenly there was a voice, speaking to her, and she looked over at the boy who had spoken. She smiled lightly. Might as well make some useful conversation then, right? Make some friends that aren't in the orphanage. He seemed nice enough, but you never could tell with first impressions. She moved over on the bench, and pat the space beside her.
"You can sit down, if you'd like."
She figured he probably wouldn't want to stand during what she hoped would be a conversation.
"I'm Abby."

“I’m Abby,” She said, introducing herself. Ace merely replied with a nod as he started to sit down in area she had showed him. He figured he’d talk after he sat down, not before. After he sat down, he shifted a bit to make himself comfortable. Looking back at the girl, he smiled. She looked like a child, no more than 12 to 13 years old, but she was pretty nonetheless.
“I’m Ace, if you’re wondering,” He said, as he stuck his hand out for a greeting. He wanted to appear as nice and polite as possible, because to him, as he said countless times, first impressions were the most important thing in meeting a complete stranger, and he never forgot that, He never would, he decided, when he was a little boy and he started to make more friends after he started being nicer, and sharing his toys with everyone.

Ace. An interesting name, to say the least. Hers was quite common, but you didn't see many Ace's around. Or atleast, she didn't. For some odd reason her mind connected this thought somehow with the night she had been found, and then to the fact that she didn't actually know when her birthday was. Don't ask. Her mind did that sometimes. It would take one thought and connect it to a similar one continuously until it ended up completely different. And somehow she'd gotten to the fact that she didn't actually know her birthday, from the simple point of how Ace wasn't a very common name. Interesting.
When they found her she'd been about two weeks old, maybe younger, and she'd been very small. They guessed she'd been a premature baby. And so they had dubbed her birthday as two weeks before the day she had been found, on October 17. Which happened to be in just a few weeks from now, now that she thought about it. But then she wondered, why exactly was she even thinking about it? Sure, she would be turning fifteen, but it wasn't like she was going to get a party, or even any presents. That didn't happen at the orphanage.
"Nice to meet you."
She shook his hand and tried to think of something to say.
"So Ace, what brings you to the park this afternoon?"

Ace knew she had been thinking about something, due to her prolonged silence, but as was in his nature, he didn’t ask anything about it. He knew all people had a right to think, and asking them about it- No, no, Ace wasn’t a person who would just ask you what you were thinking on his first time meeting you. That would ruin a first impression because people would think he was trying to hard, Ace told himself time over time. At last she finally shook his hand, not before saying, “Nice to meet you.”
“So Ace, what brings you to the park this afternoon?” She asked him. That question sort of caught him off guard as he didn’t know the real reason as to why he was here. Half of it was because he was lost, the other half, because he was new. He guessed she deserved a final answer.
“Well I’m new around here, you see, so I thought I’d look around town,” He smiled, before continuing, “And I’m lost.” He shrugged his shoulders happily, like a child shrugging theirs when there parents get them a game they had been long asking for, only to act innocent the day they got it. But it didn’t fit this situation, but then again, Ace didn’t care. He was Ace after all. And Ace was Ace.

Abby stifled a laugh when he told her why he was here. The town wasn't all that big, and not too hard to find your way around in, but she could understand that for the first couple of days it would be difficult. Since she had lived here since she was, well, dropped off at the orphanage, she had never had the whole 'being lost' sort of thing happen.
"Ah, sounds fun."
She was only half joking. Being lost would be... interesting, to say the least. She would love to be new to a town and just wander around, completely new to everything, for hours on end. Not having to worry about stupid curfews, or small children flocking around her when she returned. That was another thing she was saving up for. Her own apartment. She had been saving for many years now, nearly having enough to afford to get her own living space. But she had to get herself legally emancipated first, so she could live on her own at such a young age. She didn't think she'd be able to spend another three years at the orphanage.
"Where did you move here from?"

“Oh, it’s very fun, try it sometimes,” He said, immediately. He had heard her try to keep in a laugh, but he didn’t care. Jokes were his specialty, well sometimes he could be very romantic, but when making first impressions, he was always a joker. Well, not with Angel he wasn’t, but not everyone is Angel.
“I came in from New York. Sure, it sounds fun when you live in a town like this, but the actual experience of living there for such a long time…It just loses its touch. I love towns like this. Small, quaint, and well, filled with interesting people that all know each other,” Sighing, he spreaded his arms out on the bench. At a closer look, it looked like as if he and Abby were dating. At that thought, he immediately spurted out, “You don’t mind do you? I haven’t sat comfortably all day. Jet lag, you might say. And if it helps you to relax, just know I have a girlfriend.” Smiling, he looked up.

Try it? Well, she would if she didn't know the way around this town better than she knew the back of her hand. She nodded when he mentioned how he was from New York, and listened as he continued telling her about it. She laughed in her head when he said how this town was filled with interesting people who all knew each other, and she rolled her eyes. She barely noticed him spread his arms on the bench, and had she noticed she honestly wouldn't have cared. Sure, he was cute, but she wasn't interested in the least. Although it seemed maybe he thought so, or some such thing, because the next thing she knew he was telling her he already had a girlfriend. Whatever.
"I don't mind Ace, and not so sound rude or anything but I really don't care that you have a girlfriend, so you don't have to worry about that."
Why didn't anyone think that guys and girls could just be friends without one of them falling for the other? It drove her crazy that whenever she hung out with her friends, half of which were guys, people would whisper and point, assuming she was dating them. Then when she hung out with another friend, who was a guy, they would whisper about how she must have 'broken up with' or was 'cheating on' the other one. Sure, it was funny how stupid they all were, but she really hadn't ever had any feelings for any of her friends.

“Hey, no offense or anything, but I would have been worried if some stranger came along and put his arm around me. Or well, behind me. But you get my point. I was just telling you I have a girlfriend, so you wouldn’t get the wrong idea, so most of today’s knuckle headed teens do, and I didnt take any offense..” Ace said, smiling as he brought his arms back into his lap. He liked this girl. She had spunk, but then again, a little too much of it to be as small as her. Maybe size had to do something with it. Ace had always been a big guy, and no one ever gave him problems, so he wouldn’t know.
“Anyways, what brings you here?,” Ace said, hoping to shift the conversation to a new topic as he looked at the nearby Rowan directly in front of them. The original color was fading, and being repainted by a new splash of vibrant and alive colors. “Beautiful, isn’t it?,” Ace said, hoping that, what did she call her self, Abel? Wait….No….He got it! It was Abby. He was sure Abby was looking at the same thing, or so he hoped.
