The streets were drenched from the downpour that afternoon had bestowed on the country, still there was a slight drizzle falling and with her hair plastered to her face Eden pulled her coat tighter around her and stepped off the sidewalk only to find her feet ankle deep in a puddle that had formed beside the road. Eden cursed under her breath as she tried to shake her foot and dry it off before she crossed the road to the other side.
The street was basicly empty, apart from the odd buissnesmen rushing from one place to another, this was how she liked it, empty when no - one was around to bump into her. She stopped for a moment to gather her bearings letting the gentle droplets of rain fall into her hair and gather before becoming too heavy and rolling down her face, she stood for a momentarily, taking in the cool water on her face, the peace and quiet of the street, only it was soon disturbed when a car drove by and hit the overly large puddle she had stepped in a few moments before.
Water poured over her, the moment she had been taking in was washed away and she was now fuming. A string of curses and swear words poured out of her mouth like she was some sort of fishmongers wife, rude hand gestures flying before she turned on her heel pulling her coat around her again as she stormed into the nearest cafe.
"A large coffee" she snapped at the waitress behind the counter who was taken aback by her wet look, before Eden pulled of her drenched coat, flung it over the nearest chair and then fell into the nearest squishy armchair and started to drip dry.

Ace had just gotten back to town a few minutes ago. He was a changed man, that was for sure. He was proud of that, too. No more did the same Ace that first left town still exist, except for some things, but Ace was still Ace. And ace was great. He had planned to make his way over to Rowan Park, and call up Angelline, as he hadn’t done that before, and give her the good news that he was back to stay. But d**n his luck, it started to rain.
He was on his motorcycle, so the rain hit him like speeding bullets. “Son of a!,” Ace screamed, as he put on his helmet. No use risking a cold, he decided. He looked around a spouted a café. He needed to wait for the rain to stop, so why not dry off with a new hot coffee? He figured it was the best he could do, considering he didn’t have any other options. He made the turn, and parked the motorcycle, and rushed into the café.
He smiled as he noticed all eyes were on him, considering everything except his head was wet. He looked weird, he knew it. Making his way over to the counter, he saw that there were no empty seats, except for one. It was supposed to be a three-seater table, but the girl and her dripping wet coat had already taken two of them. That was the only place he could sit if he wanted to sit at all. He figured he might as well, it would give him a chance to catch up on everything that happened since he was gone.
“Hey there, can I get a large coffee please? Thanks beautiful,” Ace said to the waitress at the counter. Then he moved towards the girl, stopping at the opposite side of the table. He had never seen her before. She must have moved to town after he had taken this short vacation. “Hey there. Do you mind if I sit here? I wouldn’t have bothered you if anyone had left a seat for me.” Ace said with a smile. [/size]

Eden had been sat slumped back into the armchair with the steaming mug of coffee clamped into her hands, she held it gently on her stomach and occasionaly she would lift it up to her mouth to take a sip from it, she sat watching the other people in the cafe, she spotted a boy slightly older than her at a table with his laptop pushed out and typing franticly away on the keypad. Another table was occupied by a canoodling couple which made Eden feel sick to the stomach - she never really had an interest for a relationship.
Sighing she took another sip of her coffee, marvelling in the smooth taste as it ran down her throat, she closed her eyes and let the warmth take her in, only she very nearly fell asleep if she hadn't been disturbed by a masculine sounding voice.
“Hey there. Do you mind if I sit here? I wouldn’t have bothered you if anyone had left a seat for me.” Ace said with a smile. Eden's eyes snapped open as her wide eyes took him in, for a moment she was silent before she sat up and grabbed her jacket and sat it next to her.
"Uhh sure thing" she muttered "Sorry."

She moved her jacket to the side, allowing a seat for Ace to sit down on. Well, there was already a free seat on the other side of her, if she didn’t notice. Ace smiled. “Thanks.” He said. He had seen Eden around before, she had been at his law firm because of some incident that happened at Burger King. They sued them, and then something happened, and Ace couldn’t remember much after that. She was pretty funny, and awesome though. She seemed pretty simple minded, but it was all good, Ace didn’t mind.
He walked over and took a seat. “So, Eden. What’s going on?” He asked, as he propped his right leg on top of his left leg. It made him comfortable, if not, made him seem gay. Well, it didn’t matter. Girls fell for him anyways, he was just that awesome. Still, a guy like him could lose his wits in front of a girl like Eden. He noticed something, she resembled Delaney, a girl he saw around at school, but never elaborated too much on it. It might have been a co-incidence.
He looked at her and smiled. Looking back around, he noticed that a boy was chatting on a laptop, and another table had a couple on it. They were like..doing it. Well, doing boyfriend/girlfriend stuff, that was all. He turned his attention away from them, and looked back at Eden with a interested look on his face. Well, he was interested. Interested to hear her response to his previous question.
