A cool wind whistled about the plateau, blowing the half-dead-looking grass, making it dance. It was a clear day, and despite being the place of all fears, it had an eerily beautiful look about it. There were very few clouds in the sky, and the sun shone down, warming the land. Various animals skittered about in the trees, and far below the plateau, The Nothing could see his minions training themselves, sparring with one another and sharpening their weapons. They were, after all, getting ready for a battle.
His usual cloak surrounded his tall, slender body, and it flapped lightly in the breeze. His arms were crossed and a slight frown creased his lips as he watched the lands below him. Blue hair was hidden beneath his large hood, and navy-blue army boots covered his feet today. As he had been for quite some time now, The Nothing was feeling restless, as though there was something out of place, something not quite right. He knew it was foolish, children in the real world were still getting nightmares, the Sandmen were still against them, his minions were all under his complete control... And yet...
He narrowed his eyes, annoyed by this constant feeling. He began to pace, walking one way along the Brink of Despair, his left boot landing just inches from the edge, then turning on his heel and continuing back the way he had come, this time with his right foot nearly over the cliff. His long cloak flew out a bit behind him from a mixture of the wind and his movement, and he continued to think, trying to find that one thing not right.

Tri-Edge had just left his meeting with Glandforth when the object of his fury lay in front of him. The Nothing. He knew it. His blade howled for it's blood. The Nothing will feel his blade, he knew it. Not for glory, not for honour... just because he could. Tri-Edge landed on the other side of The Nothing, his back facing him.
"So you're him, huh, you're the Nothing." Tri-Edge spoke.

Spice was walking around the Brink of Despair she didn't know why boredom she guessed. When she came up upon The Nothing and some guy she never seen before. Spice thought this might be something interesting to watch if she got involved she got involved, but she was going to try and stay out of that. She wondered what would go on next she but her silver hair behind her ear and just watched.

The Nothing sensed the presence of another being before he could see it, but he was not worried. He could easily take care of himself against all of the Sandmen, so why would one simple being be of trouble to him? It wouldn't. He watched as it landed in front of him, not even facing him. That was not a wise move. Holding your back towards someone shows that you feel they are of no threat to you, and it made The Nothing even more annoyed than he had been already. First impressions were everything, they said, and this being was not making a very good one.
"So you're him, huh, you're the Nothing." The being spoke to him.
No, he was the Easter Bunny. Who did this guy think he was, speaking like this to The Nothing, the greatest being in nearly all of the Dream world? If he had not been so pissed off, he maybe would have taken a liking to this beings fearless actions. But he was very pissed, and so this being's chance for a good first impression had been quite ruined. He had just sealed his fate.
And you are a lowly being with a death wish and no common sense
It was quite true. No being spoke to The Nothing like that and didn't pay for it, in one way or another. Yes, he would have much fun with him. Maybe it would be enough to take away the restless feeling he had been having.

"Before you go on a me killing spree, I have something I would like to propose, if you would hear me." Tri-Edge said, turning to face the Nothing. "A way to defeat the Sandmen, and bring your dreams, or nightmares to light." Tri-Edge's wings were spread wide, prepared to flee if need be, though he doubted he could. Who cares.

The nothing watched him evenly as the being began to speak, annoyance like a fire in his eyes. So, he had a proposition, did he? This sounded interesting, if not completely idiotic. Well, he had already wasted this much of his time, why not a few more moments. It's not like he had anything much more important to do. Besides, it seemed they were getting an audience. He didn't look up as he sensed the presence of another being, but he smirked lightly as he picked up on her thoughts.
It seemed she was waiting for a fight. Not a very inappropriate thought, nor very inaccurate, considering The Nothing was known for his temper, and quite a few of his little 'rages' had brought on quite an audience. They were really quite amusing, or so he had heard. He never noticed the overall effect, his thoughts mostly dwelling on the satisfying crunch of the breaking bones, and the warm, coppery blood spilling onto the ground.
You have thirty seconds to convince me to let you live.
Well, he figured, he might as well see what he had to offer before destroying him. You never knew when one of these loonies actually had a worthwhile idea. Of course, these ideas were few and far between, but one could never be sure that it would be a complete waste of time until they heard it. And if he didn't like it after he had heard it... Well, he wouldn't want to be the poor sap who proposed the idea, that's for sure.

"Well sir, a plan has already been set into motion to bring down the Sandmen from the inside. I have a mole who will be placed as close to September as possible, and when the time is right, strike her down. There's more, if you decide to let me live." Tri-Edge cackled menicingly as he spoke these words. Surely the Nothing couldn't pass up an offer like this.

Stormcleaver had been watching the scene very closely, from a safe distance of course. He didn’t dare get any closer, not to ruin the friendly mood that The Nothing was working up. Not at all. Stormcleaver’s eyes widened as he heard the being talking to The Nothing talk about a plan to take down September. Where they really this pitiful, as to backstab the Sandmen leader? Nothing pissed him off more than a unfair fight. 100 soldiers from The Nothing army against Stormcleaver was fairer, but after all, betrayal was a way of life for some these days, and all they could do was go along with it.
He had to interfere, he wanted to know more about this plan. He teleported himself over to the side of The Nothing, facing both The Nothing and the guy proposing the plan. The worst thing to do would be to get in between, both seemed fairly strong, a little too strong. “What is this plan?” Stormcleaver asked, in his low, whispering voice. It sounded like he had distorted his voice to make it sound this way, but alas, it was the way he spoke, and he had to deal with it, all because Zac was a big fan of Antonio Banderas.

A mole, did he say? To befriend the leader of the sandmen and bring it down from the inside? That could possibly be one of the stupidest plans he had ever heard of. And believe you me, he had heard a lot, and I mean a lot, or stupid ideas. First thing, September, he knew by now, was no idiot. She would not be easily fooled, and she could readily defend herself. He should know; they'd been in an ongoing war for an eternity. Secondly this would mean that they were both neutral, which meant they were not loyal to him, or to her. This being was an imbecile to think that The Nothing would trust such a thing as him.
Something distracted him from this train of thoughts, something about them being pitiful, and a strong hatred. He looked over in the direction this thought was coming from, but it changed suddenly as the being appeared at his side. He asked what the plan was, and The Nothing watched him warily. The plan was ludicrous. That's what it was. He turned back to the first being and spoke only to him, making it so his telepathic words could not be heard by anyone else.
You are a fool if you think that plan will work, and an even bigger fool if you think I would trust a single word coming from your pathetic mouth.
Then he turned to face the new arrival, dismissing the other as if he was of no importance. He was simply a bother, and if he knew anything he would leave now, before The Nothing decided to make it personal. He sent another telepathic message, but this time it was to the new being, so only he could hear.
The plan is not of your concern. i suggest you leave before you waste any more of my time.

"Regardless of how stupid, pointless or futile the plan is. The fact is an attack is an attack. The plan is so obvious, that it could work. What do you have to lose? It doesn't even take your consent. I just thought I'd let you know what's goin' down, maybe utilize an opportunity. But if you want to just be an ass, be my guest. Lose your chance." Tri-edge didn't care. So what, death. Doesn't matter, he craved it anyway. [whisper=The Nothing] No, you do not have permission to kill me.[/whipser]

Alares sensed the presence of her master above, though that was not abnormal, what was though, was the feeling of stress coming from him and the presence of another. The girl was perched on a small stone wall, a little ways away from the others engaged in their rigorous training. She herself, had been training in her own way. Meditating her mind to finely tune her powers. Without breaking this meditation she entered the mind of an Eagle in a tree close by where The Nothing stood. Watching with her now keen eagle eyes she listened to the proposal given by a man she did not recognize. At this point, she did break her meditation, returning to her own body and leaving her perch in flight. She landed softly close to The Nothing and the other man, though she did not dare interfere without command. Instead, she stayed her distance, crouched on the ground ready to move at any moment, keeping a watching eye on Tri-Edge. She did not speak, even to formally greet her master, knowing that in a moment like this it was best to make no move until invited to do so.

If this being felt the need to go through with this ridiculous plan, The Nothing would not stop him. After all, it was for his own benefit, and he would have nothing to lose if the plan failed. But the creature had annoyed him, and he crossed the line this time. When darkness ruled, and terrible nightmares plagued the real world, this creature would be the first to have it's dreamer destroyed. He almost smirked as images of how he would rid of him flashed through his head. He would have fun with him. A nice, slow death seemed in order.
Why, though, did it seem that he was constantly surrounded by idiots? Was there not a single being that could think properly in this land? No creature that did not invoke his rage? It seemed not, but that was the price he had to pay, being the ruler of the nightmares. It seemed that dreamers could no longer think clearly, nor dream of frightening beings as they once had done. They were getting harder to scare.
A new being made her presence known as she landed on the Plateau, near enough to The Nothing to show her allegiance and respect, but far enough to prevent interfering. Yes, The Nothing knew of this being. She was one of the few that still possessed even the slightest bit of intelligence. She had yet to infuriate him. Which just made it seem as though it was long overdue. No one could go forever without enraging him. It was only a matter of time.
