In the dark of the night I will find you...
Footsteps could be heard as The Nothing walked parallel to the boarder, but the way he moved seemed almost as if he was gliding along the ground. As he moved, a cloud of darkness seemed to follow him, blocking the faint light that there was in the nightmare real, and the bright cheery sunlight from the other land. The cold wind native to the Nightmare Grotto swirled angrily to his right, while the warm, sweet-smelling air of the Land of Milk and Cookies wafted towards him gently from his left. It was enough to make him sick.
He turned on his heel suddenly, moving back the way he had come, continuing to walk just barely on his side of the borderline, with his one foot less than an inch away from the fresh grass of the other land. His arms were crossed over his chest and his eyes started blankly in front of him, as he was lost in his own dark thoughts. A few of his followers stood nearby, most too afraid to move should they disrupt their master's thinking and cause him to fall into a fit of rage, something that never boded well for anyone.
He had decided to take the form he was using most often lately, the not-too-tall, not-too-short, blue-haired, snake-eyed demon form. He had been using it more and more often lately, having worked out some tweaks here and there to make it more favorable to him. The cloak was his favourite part, with it's hood that cast a wonderful shadow over his eyes, and fell down past his feet to drag slightly on the ground. Today it wasn't dragging though, the wind and the swiftness of his movement keeping it slightly blown out behind him. He turned again and continued pacing. Today he was feeling restless.
It had been a while, atleast by his standards, since they had last had a battle with the Sandmen. Perhaps they are finally realizing who the superior one is... Lately it had been all too easy to invade the minds of children, causing their dreams to become horrible, twisted nightmares. Strange beings chasing them down never-ending hallways, locked in small rooms, clowns everywhere, drowning at the bottom of the sea; it was times like that when he felt truly... alive.
And in the darkness of night you will be mine.

Fiery breath escaped his lips as he made his way to the borderline. Many in the land of milk and cookies moved out of his way, gasping at the sight of one such as he. Eyes as red as blood stared straight ahead, watching the horizon for the border. Horns sprouted from his forehead, separating long strands of black hair. A tail, long and whip-like trailed behind him as he sped along. The ground seemed to move underneath him as he would stand still.
The border coming into sight was what made the hybrid slow his pace. He could feel the presence of those who were evil, bent by the will of The Nothing. Crimson eyes saw a dark figure pacing along the border, seeming to be irritated. A dark smirk crossed his face as he knew what it was. Fire spewed from his throat as he fought for control. If he did not control himself before he got to the border, he would hurt innocent people. The demon half of his body was screaming for dominance for it had not been released for a while now.
Now a few yards from the border, Ramok pulled to a halt. His eyes quickly took in what was over the border. The Nothing and it's minions. "Begone from the border, tainted things. Lest I be forced to take action" he called in his low, rough voice.

Just as he was turning on his heel to continue his pacing, he stopped suddenly, facing the land of Milk and Cookies. He could see something, coming towards them. A smirk tugged at his lips as he watched the being come near. Crossing his arms in front of him, his eyes never left this creature as it moved swiftly towards him. The Sandmen and their followers were so bothersome. He couldn't even pace thoughtfully along his side of the border anymore without them picking at him. Oh well, it couldn't be helped. He'd just have to brutally destroy this being. Maybe then they would get the message.
The creature halted not too far from the border, far enough that he couldn't be reached, but close enough that he would not need to raise his voice to be heard. He did raise his voice though, sounding very professional in his weak attempt to get them to leave. He would be forced to take action, would he? Well then, let's see these odds... About twenty to one, one of the twenty being The Nothing himself. Did this creature really think he could do anything? It was almost funny, and had he a sense of humour he would have laughed mirthlessly.
You pathetic half-blood, you dare call me a tainted being? My blood runs the same through and through. I wonder though, does yours?
A rhetorical question. Unlike what most people would expect, his voice was not scratchy or creepy, not sounding like a monster at all, but there was always a constant, underlying threat. You didn't get away with speaking as such to The Nothing. Half-bloods were the true tainted beings here, a stain upon the otherwise perfect land of Nightmares. Perhaps today, one of those stains would be erased.

The Nothing had stopped it's pacing and now smirked at Ramok with evil written across it's face. Ramok didn't take any notice of it. "Indeed, does my blood flow as well as your own? I am a half-breed and I can admit that. But can you, Nothing, admit that you are naught but shadows?" came Ramok's reply, sarcasm and disrespect interwoven through it.
Placing the tip of his sword into the ground and resting both hands upon the hilt, Ramok took a protectors stance and lowered his head for it to be hidden in the shadows of his hood. His tail moved slowly behind, seeming to have a mind of its own. Thoughts a many ran through his head, jumbled and twisted in a way that only he could understand. With his sense of sight now switched off, Ramok's other 4 senses were heightened.

September's wings beat in time with her racing heart. Had she only just been relaxing a few moments ago at the tower? It now felt more like hours. Hours since she had first seen the stain of darkness on an otherwise clear border. In truth it had only been mere minutes, but it felt much longer because of the rapid change in her attitude. Minutes before she had been sitting, polishing her silver sword, relaxed, and now she was racing towards the border as fast as her wings would carry her. Below her she could see the tiny black dot running to the border. He would get there first, she knew because he was already on the ground. She would have to land before she reached the border. Sometimes flyiing had its disadvantages.
September continued speeding along, not sure what she would find when she got there. The Nothing was there to be sure. He was the only one that could spread that cloud of darkness so effectively. September drew her sword though she was still far away and made it glow with the brightest light imaginable.Light against dark was always a good combination not to mention that light always gave her strength and courage. September let the light spread to the very tips of her white wings, lettting it envelope her entire being.
She was over the border now and could hear voices from below her. She knew she should get down there quickly before a fight sprang up. She tucked her wings in expertly and plummeted towards the border, looking exactly like a fallen star. At the last minute, she spread her wings and landed gracefully, her bare feet barely an inch from the border. September held her sword out at the thing on the other side. "You shall not pass."

He noted with satisfaction that the being he had sensed earlier had rose as the creature had come, and was holding a sword. Smart. He would be justly rewarded if he indeed came in handy with the disposal of this half-blood, who had begun to speak. It seemed perhaps he had mistaken what he had said. His blood did not flow well; in fact it nearly didn't flow at all, but it was pure. The half-breed's blood, however, was tainted. Mixed.
Pathetic being, leave now or I will be forced to dispose of you.
Honestly, whether he left or not he would be disposed of, for showing such disrespect to The Nothing. Yes, a nice and slow, painful disposal would do nicely. He watched as the half-breed took on a ridiculous pose, probably for some ritual or some such thing, but no ritual could save him from his inevitable fate. You didn't speak to The Nothing like that and live to tell about it.
He glanced up when a flash of light showed in the sky; apparently the leader had found this meeting important enough to drop in on herself. Well then, all the more fun for him then. Anbother being to brutally destroy. He was slightly amused when she landed just barely in front of him, as he was standing naught an inch to his side of the border, and she to an inch of hers. He watched her evenly, his yellow eyes glinting faintly in the sun.
He shall not pass, eh? So it seems yet another being believed that words would be enough to stop him from doing what he pleased. Pathetic. When would they learn that thy simply couldn't stop him?
Well then, it's a good thing I didn't intend to pass in the first place.
REally, could he not have a simple brooding session on his own side of the border? Of course, that hadn't really been his intentions from the start, but he had not been planning on starting a war or anything. Yet, anyway. And still they could not simply leave him be. So rude. He would just have to teach them a lesson, now wouldn't he.

Ramok didn't move in the slightest as Lyancaster came mere centimeters away from his throat. "Touch me, you pitiful Shadow Puppet, and I will make sure you never touch anyone again" Ramok hissed. He lifted his head slowly and glared at the shadow manifestation. Turning his gaze to wards September, he wondered what leisure she had been indulging before she had gotten here.
"And as for you, Nothing, what makes you think I take orders from something that is nothing but dreams?" Ramok asked, spitting the word 'Nothing'. His profound hate for The Nothing was clearly written across his pale face. Using all of his self-control, Ramok restrained himself from running in blindly and swinging his word around.

September gave the shadow thing a swift smirk as she stood there, glowing in bright, white light. Didn't they know that shadows retreated in the smallest hint of light, and this shadow thing would retreat as well. It was, after all, naught more than shadows. September formed a small ball of light in her free hand just in case she needed it. "Of course, you can walk on your side, Nothing, but we will simply be here to make sure you don't cross." She leaned almost lazily on the hilt of her sword while she tossed the bll of light up into the air, watching The Nothin in a seemingly casual way.
"H's not made of dreams, Ramok," September said as she caught the ball. "He's made of nightmares and foul things. The things he hungers for, the things he desires, are just to cause us pain, force us to lose hope. Isn't that right, Nothing?" She gave the man a small smirk as she tossed her ball of light into the air again. "That's why he wants to destroy us so much. We, Sandmen, are the very essence of all he wants to destroy and we give Dreamers hope." She caught the ball again, still smirking.

This Ramok was getting on his last nerve. Cocky little... No. What was the point of thinking about it, when he could simply destroy the little twit? There was no point at all. But he decided now that he wouldn't destroy him yet. Not yet. In a week. Yes, at the end of the week he could brutally destroy this annoying half-breed, perhaps so brutally that the child who dreamt of him would be permanently scarred. Hmm, now that was a very entertaining thought.
He seemed to be ignoring the shadow being, Lyancaster, but he was not. He had noted quite amusedly that he was so willing to fight for him. Either that or he was simply too afraid to do otherwise, but either way he cared not. The point was that he was a valuable part of his army, and he would be able to fight quite well in the upcoming battle. Yes, quite well indeed.
Why should Ramok take orders from something that was nothing but dreams? Well, mayhaps he should ask September here, who was the real being made of naught but dreams. The Nothing was not made of dreams. He was made of the exact opposite, nightmares and foul things as the angel had described it. An accurate description, but then again it would be; in this kind of war it payed to know your enemies well, and after fighting since time began, it was only natural that they knew nearly everything about their foes.
His eyes followed the ball of light as the angel tossed it into the air before catching it, throwing it up again and catching it once more. He held back the inhuman hissing noise that was threatening to escape his throat, and instead simply waved his hand, as though shooing away a fly, and the darkness surrounded the light, extinguishing it. It was quite distracting, and it hurt his eyes, not to mention it was simply just annoying. So he got rid of it. He did that sometimes. If something, or someone, annoyed him, he'd simply get rid of them. It just made so much sense, and it was for the most part all too easy.

Ramok shrugged. "Nightmares, dreams... They're all the same. The only difference is nightmares are bad. And the difference between you, Nothing, and September is the fact that she is made of imagination, and you are made of fears. If the dreamers stopped fearing, then you would be no more" he said with a smirk upon his face. Petiful thing.
As Lyancaster moved away from the ball of light, Ramok chuckled. When light is absent, darkness prevails. But light wasn't absent. Light was here to chase away the shadow and light everyone's path. Ramok's day brightened with that thought.

September merely smirked when The Nothing made her ball of light fade away. She could easily make another if she wanted to, but that one had served its purpose to annoy The Nothing. September wasn't worried about the shadow creature. She was burning with light, and shadows couldn't overcome so much light, a little maybe, but not this much and not when it was controlled by her. She continued to stand fairly still, still leaning on her sword's hilt. She could at any moment, wrench it from the ground and slice through the shadow's arm. She wouldn't though, not unless he attacked first.
September sighed in a bored way. I left my tea for this, she thought to herself. Just to stand at the border and watch The Nothing and his minions....how boring. She half wished Ramok would attack just so the minions would attack back. At least then, she'd have something to do instead of just standing here, doing nothing.

Racing toward the Border at superhuman speed, Glandforth was happy that he was finally able to take part in a battle against The Nothing. Due to his amazing speed, almost close to the speed of light, but not entirely there, all the other Dreams could do nothing but stare as he sped past them. Passing the Tower Of Tranquil, Glandforth halted abruptly. He was rushing into this fight mindlessly. He needed to prepare, and to do that, he had to do what he was the best at. Summoning elements. And fast.
Drawing his sword, he struck it into the ground. Kneeling, he placed his hand on the tilt, and uttered a few inaudible words, and began to summon the necessary element, in this case, it was light. What better way to fight shadows than with light? Or does light strengthen shadows? Hmm, we'll find out, very soon. Ace thought to himself, hoping he could get there in under three minutes after he finished the summoning, while his sword would be at it's strongest.
Hopefully the fight hadn't started yet, as it would put Glandforth in a state of confusion as to what started the battle, and who started it, and he wouldn’t know who his enemies were, as each Dreamer did look unique. There was no way of telling who was a Sandman, and who was part of the Nothing Army.
Flandforth decided to focus more on that later, and turned his attention back to his sword, as to speed up the summoning. Almost there.. Glandforth broke a sweat. Summoning elements wasn’t as easy as it looked, and with such elements like light, it was extremely hard. 2 minutes passed..15 seconds..30 seconds... Done! Ace yanked his sword out of the ground, and studied the change. It glowed, and strangely, it had no shadow. “Wonderful,” Glandforth said, as he continued towards the border.
He spotted the border in the near distance, and what looked like two dreamers on their side. One appeared to be a girl, and the other, a guy. Yes! It hasn’t started! Ace thought, happily. Getting closer, he noticed that some sort of demon was on the other side. There were at least 20 people on the opposite side of the border, and only three on their side. Looks like it‘ll be a good fight. Hopefully not my last. Glandforth thought to himself. Studying the Nothing Army closer, he concluded that the blue demon was The Nothing. He just had a powerful, eerie aura coming from him. On his side, there was a woman, and a spiky tailed demon with untidy black hair.
“Greetings, friends,” Glandforth said, merely feet away from the woman and demon. He was hoping they would be friend. Well, of course they had to be friends, they were on the Land of Milk and Cookies side. They were friends, weren’t they?

Noticing yet another being come to the border, a frown creased The Nothing's lips. This was turning out to be quite the party, now wasn't it. What was it with these people and being so terrified of him attacking? Sure, he probably would have already, had they not been here, but surely they could just stop being so paranoid, and leave him to think. For some reason, this was the best spot for him to gather his thoughts, although it seemed it was always under patrol, and he was just never left alone.
And this Ramok. He was oh so annoying. Like a fly, constantly buzzing around your head, buzzing and buzzing and circling and circling until BAM! You squish it so utterly and completely that it is hardly distinguishable from the annoying, buzzing, flying little bugger it was just moments before. He had a sudden urge to squish him now, but he suppressed it somehow. There was to be no battle today. He hadn't come here for that. Sure, he had been planning on brutally murdering a few people, but not actually starting a war. That was for later. And yet the good guys just seemed to be flocking here, as though they could feel the beginning of the completely non-existent battle.
You people are really beginning to annoy me.
He began to pace for a few moments, back and forth, back and forth, only a few inches to his side of the border, as though taunting the Sandmen. You can't touch me, you can't touch me, na na na na na na... He appeared to be deep in thought for a few minutes, before he stopped pacing and turned back to the 'good guys'.
Are you still here?
He questioned, his tone showing slight annoyance.
Go on, run along now. I have things to do. Don't worry, I'll be a good boy.
He spoke as though to a child, or to a group of children, and the last part was with a mixture of the previous tone, and hatred so powerful it could cause physical pain in most beings.

September showed no signs of leaving or even being tempted to leave. She wrenched her sword from the ground and held it in fighting stance. "We will leave when you and your minions leave." She turned her head to look at Ramok and at another being who had arrived moments earlier. She gave him a small smile and nod of approval before turning back to face The Nothing. "If you didn't want to battle, why come to the border? you can't expect us to believe you just wanted to think," she said, scoffing.

Ramok continued to watch the slaves of the dark, standing in fear as The Nothing brooded. He loved to taunt people and get on their nerves. It was fun to see them run blindly into things and get themselves hurt. Though he highly doubted that The Nothing would do such as that.
Flicking his ears as much as humanly possible, Ramok could hear the sound of rapidly moving feet. Rapid as in faster than him. Since when was someone faster than him? Turning, he saw the new guy. Gesturing with his head, he motioned for him to join them in their little taunting session.
"Heh, you being a good boy? Becoming soft are we Nothing?" Ramok taunted more. He'd push The Nothing's buttons until he found the one that made him furious. Poke, poke, poke. "Besides, nobody said this was a private party" he smirked.
