Ariella wandered out of the school's library where she was supposed to be getting a book for her English class. In reality, she had been on the computer, talking to people online. It wasn't until she noticed that she only had ten minutes left before the bell rang that she got off line and quickly checked out the firt interesting book she could find. This had taken her about three minutes, so it was now seven minutes until the bell rang.
She was now walking very quickly down the empty hall, trying her best to get back to class before the bell rang. If she didn't make it, she would probably be late to her math class. Not that she cared. She was thinking of skipping math anyways. She hated math. It used to be so simple...then they added letters. What were letters doing in a math equation anyways? They formed words and math didn't have any words in it at all.
Ariella whisked around a corner still contemplating skipping math with its stupid letters that didn't form words when she suddenly bumped into someone. She tripped and fell, thanking heaven that she wasn't wearing a skirt because the person would probably have seen her underwear if she had been. "I'm really sorry," she said, getting up from the floor.

Ace ran out of Gym, knowing that he was going to be late for his algebra class. Changing his clothes never seemed to take so much time before, but for some reason, today was a bad day for him. They played basketball and for some reason, Ace didn’t make a single shot. Not even a free throw. He knew it was a bad day for him, and here he was, getting late for his math class. Even though the bell didn’t ring yet, the gym coach let them out 10 minutes early, considering that the class was held so far away from the school, and it would probably make them late if he did let them out when the actual bell rang.
Turning the corner, he ran into something…or someone. The impact didn’t affect him much, he was a football player and always had impacts like this, but the person he ran into seemed to be affected. He heard a thud, and noticed that it was a girl around his age. “I’m really sorry, I’m just running sort of late,” Ace said, holding a hand out, but he had been too late. She was helping herself up. No problem, as long as was fine.
“Are you okay?” Ace asked, with his hand held out, as if to greet her. Like he said before, the collision was no problem for him, but she was a girl. And girls were more delicate.

Ariella rubbed her elbow which had hit the floor when she fell. She looked up at the person she had ran into. It was just a boy. He didn't look like the bump had affected him nearly as much as it had her. This seemed to be proven when he asked if she was okay. "No, I think I broke my leg," sh said in a sarcastic voice while she limped a few feet. "I'm fine. Why? You one of those boys who think girls are made of proclien?" She rolled her eyes in his direction.
She flicked her dark hair out of her face and started looking around for the book she had dropped. She spotted it near the lockers and went to pick it up. "I'm Ariella by the way, Ariella Warren." She bent down and picked up the book. "Now if you don't mind, I gotta get going before I'm late to math. That is if I even go to math." She gave the boy a wicked grin before walking past him, flicking her hair again as she did so.

Ace noticed she rubbed her elbow, she was hurt, but she joked it off with a sarcastic comment. He didn’t notice, but she had dropped a book too. If he knew that, he would have gotten for her, but lately, his mind hadn’t been working correctly. She was a sassy girl, what with all the rolling her eyes, and flicking her hair and what not, but Ace didn’t mind. She was just a girl, after all, he expected her to act that way.
As she walked past him, he grabbed her elbow, firm but gently. “Hey, I really am sorry.” He said, not bothering to turn around. If he did, he probably would’ve gotten slap, which he was sure he was going to get. But he needed to let Ariella know that he was really sorry, even if she didn’t believe him the first time. He was a niceguy after all, even if he did appear daunting.

"I know," Ariella said softly. She had believed him the first time, but maybe he didn't know that. "The question is how sorry are you?" She asked, her sarcastic, sassy attitude back. "Sorry enough to give me a buck or just sorry enough to let go of my elbow before I sound the alarm?" She smirked, but he couldn't see that because her head was turned away from him, and she couldn't turn it without cricking her neck.
"What's your name anyways?" She asked the boy. She had told him hers. He could do the same. She stood there for a moment, waiting for him to let go of her elbow. Normally, she would jerk it out of his grip, but it was the elbow she had hut and didn't want to damage it more by jerking it out of his grasp..

He heard her when she said “I know.” She had said it softly, possibly she hadn’t wanted him to hear it, but he had. Then she converted right back to her sassy, sarcastic, just plain girl nature. Ace smiled at her comments, but still didn’t let her arm go. He then turned his head, which he hadn’t before, to look at her. She had that whole “You cant hurt me” attitude going on. Ace didn’t care, then she asked about his name. She had to have an answer now.
“Ace McCloud at your service. And no, don’t sound the alarm, class is still going on and I don’t want people thinking I’m raping you out there. As for your buck, I’d rather not….How about a latte later on?” Ace said, letting her elbow go. Even though he was steady with Angel, he could still have girlfriends. Friends that were girls, he meant. He didn’t have any feelings for this girl, but he had to admit, she was pretty and she had that whole small town look going for her.

Ariella took her elbow back when he let it go. "Well, Ace, it's nice to meet you, and you're just licky that I didn't sound the alarm." She gave him a small smirk. "And I don't like lattes. The whole foam things freaks me out. I mean, how can you drink something when foam is trying to go up your nose? I'll settle for a coke though. It's what I would have bought anyways." She took a moment to look up at the clock attached to the wall. It was nearing time for the bell to ring.
"Hey, you wanna skip the next period with me? I hate math, and my friend that I usually skips with has a history test." She started walking down the hallway without waiting for his answer. If he wanted to come with her, he would she wasn't going to make him. She wasn't that kind of girl to force someone to do something.

“A coke it is then. How about after school, say around 3:30?” He asked, as she looked up at the clock. He wondered what she was thinking, as he turned around completely to look at her. The hallway was still empty, and as he looked up at the clock, he noticed it was time for the bell to ring. “I should be heading off to class,” He said, but she asked him something that surprised even him. She left him no time to answer, it was either follow, or…not be cool.
He decided to follow. “So…where are we going exactly?” He called after her, tucking his hands into his pockets. He was always a fan of skipping, but this was after all a new school and he didn’t know his way around just yet. So there was no skipping in his plans…yet. But this girl, Ariella, just happened to change his plans, making them more exciting than before. Sure, he skipped before, but this was his first time in a while, and he couldn’t help but be excited.

Ariella smiled brightly when she heard the boy's footsteps behind her. "Well, first I have to get my bag from English. I left it there when the teacher forced me to go to the library." She scowled slightly ass she looked at the book she was holding. She hadn't even read the title before. A Tale of Two Cities She rolled her eyes in annoyance about getting the famous Charles D.ickens book. She hadn't read it before, and she really didn't want to, but now she had no choice.
She turned around and started walking down the hallway backward, so she could keep this Ace in her sight. "I can't meet you today though. I have an eye appointment." She rolled her eyes at this thought. Her eyesight was perfect, but sttill her dad made her go to yearly eye check-ups. "I can meet you tomorrow though if you want."

“to the library,” She said, finishing it off with what Ace recognized, even from his point of view, a scowl. He seemed to notice the book she was holding, A Tale of Two Cities. It was a fairly good book, to him that was, but to practically everyone else, it was amazing. He didn’t take much liking to it, considering it was just a plain book, practically without emotions.
She turned around, so she could keep her eyes on him, and walked backwards. Ace smirked, as he walked a bit faster to catch up with her, “You really are crazy, you know that?…Anyways tell me, after you get your book bag, where do we go? And sure, tomorrow. You can give me your cell number and we can make plans, if that’s fine.” Ace said, as noticed a rather large, tall boy standing with his face turned in the opposite direction of them. And in Ariella’s direct backwards path.
“Hey, ariella, watch out!” Ace exclaimed, as he ran in front of her of her. Or rather, behind her.

Ariella turned smoothly around when Ace yelled for her to watch out. He then ran around in front of her as though trying to protect her drom running into the person. She gave him a small smirk before turning her head to look up at whio she had almost run into. Immediately, she groaned inwardly. The boy she had nearly run into was none other than Scott Davies. He had a major crush on her...or actually not so much of a crush as a desire to make her another notch on his belt. Ariella looked quickly around for som way to escape, but there was none, and Scott had seen her already.
He grinned down at her like he thought he was the hottest thing on two legs. "Ariella, baby, how about you and me head out to the bleachers for a little cheering session?" He started to move in on her, totally ignoring Ace.
"Sure, that sounds fun," Ariella said, grinning back at him. "I have to get my bag though, so why don't you go wait for me there, and I'll come meet you for that, ah, cheering session?" Scott gave her a triumphant grin and turned and started walking the way he had come. Ariella scowled at his retreating back. "Stupid git," she muttered to herself.

Ace watched with a grin, off to side, as they had a little flirting session going on. It was more of the guy than it was Ariella. After the guy walked off, Ace went up to Ariella and heard the comment she made. Pointing backwards, he asked, “Who was that guy? Your boyfriend or something?” Ace knew that it possible couldn’t have been her boyfriend. If it had been, they would have had that “cheering session” right here and now. Just as he pushed Angel’s buttons, he pushed Ariella’s as well.

Ariella turned to look at Ace while he walked over to her again. "No way! I would never date him. He's such a jerk. He thinks he's so hot, but really he's just an idiot." She started walking down the hall again, but before she had gone very far, the bell rang. She seized Ace's hand in her own. "Trust me," she said as doors all down the hall were suddenly flung open. "We'll be seperated otherwise." She held tight to Ace's hand and walked quickly over to the right side of the hallway. Just as she had known it would a wave of students came along, pushing them in front. Ariella moved quickly, occainsionally getting her shoes stepped on but nothing much worse.

Ace looked down, as he saw Ariella grab his hand. He didn’t have anything against it, but what if Angel saw them walking together, Ariella holding his hand as he walked behind her? The thought was too much to handle, and he decided not to think too much on it. She was a fairly easy person to get along with, and he loved her for that. Turning his attention back to the fairly crowed hallway, he noticed that Ariella had a pretty hard time getting by, as she was rather small, to his standards, so he walked ahead. He was a big guy, and could easily knock people aside if they were to get in his way.
Looking back, still walking forward, he asked, “Which way are we going again? To get your books, right?”

Ariella rolled her eyes when Ace moved in front of her. He was definetely the kind of guy who wanted to protect girls, and obviously it didn't matter that they had only known each other seven minutes. Ariella accidentally-on purpose stepped on the back of Ace's shoe. "Whoops, sorry," she said brightly, smiling innocently. She looked up to see where they were at. It wasn't much farther to her English class. In fact, they were just a few doors from it now. "Yeah, that's the classroom there." She pointed out a door bearing the name Mrs. Scwill on it. "With any luck, she won't be there, and we can just nip in and grab my stuff without her lecturing me about how I wasted an entire class in the library." Ariella spoke mostly to herself because she really didn't want to be lectured by her teacher. They probably wouldn't be able to sneak to the good skipping place if the teacher did lecture her.
